BC Road: Woman in burqa stabs husband at textile shop, arrested

Bantwal. Nov 20, 2025: A woman, reportedly in disguise, stabbed her husband with a knife at the Somayaji Textiles shop near the KSRTC bus stand in BC Road on Wednesday night.

The shop owner, Krishna Kumar Somayaji, sustained injuries in the incident. His wife, Jyothi Somayaji, who allegedly attac
ked him, has been taken into police custody.

The injured victim has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

According to sources, Jyothi Somayaji arrived at the shop wearing a burqa and suddenly stabbed her husband, who was at the cash counter.

Bantwal Town Police rushed to the spot upon receiving information and immediately detained the accused wife.

The incident is suspected to be the result of a family dispute. Further details
