Surathkal: Customers storm BMR Group office over alleged non-refund of funds

Mangaluru, Nov 20, 2025: The issue of fraudulent “lucky schemes” continues to trouble residents of Surathkal, Katipalla, and Krishnapura, where multiple operators have previously vanished after allegedly cheating investors of crores of rupees. Adding to these concerns, BMR Group has now drawn public anger after customers stormed its Surathkal office on Friday morning, accusing the company of failing to return their invested funds.

Lucky scheme BMR Group in Surathkal-Customers protest

Surathkal Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about the chaos. According to the complainants, BMR’s Dawood Hakim had earlier assured them that their money would be refunded, but no repayment has been made so far. With crores reportedly involved, frustrated investors barged into the office demanding answers.

Police have reportedly taken the head of BMR Group to the station for questioning.

Despite several similar schemes collapsing in the past, people continue to fall prey to enticing offers and promises of quick returns. Customers alleged that such companies lure them with attractive schemes, collect large sums, and later force them to seek police intervention when refunds do not materialize.
