Udupi, August 26: The district police displayed stolen property worth Rs. 66.82 lakh, which was recovered from April 1 to July 30, and handed it over to the rightful owners during a special programme organized at the headquarters of the district police on Aug 25, Wednesday.

130gms of jewelry, gold ornaments, and precious puja items such as copper vessels and LPG cylinders all worth Rs. 10.47 lakh were handed over to the owners under Karkala sub division.


Two Maruti Omni cars, one mobile handset, one motor cycle, 102 sacks of cement, 6 cows, Rs. 5,525, and jewelry worth Rs. 2,59,325 were handed over to the rightful owners under Kundapura sub division.


One Nokia mobile handset, 700 rubber sheets, Rs. 25,000, one auto rickshaw, one Kinetic Honda, one Maruti car, and 950gms of gold ornaments all worth Rs. 17,59,440 were handed over to rightful owners under Udupi sub division.


Of the total stolen goods worth Rs. 32,71,965, property worth Rs. 24,030,840 has been recovered and handed over on Wednesday.
