Udupi, Feb 17, 2023: Two persons,  said to be vegetable vendors were arrested for dumping the dead body of a co-worker on the roadside and escape from the scene. The inhuman act took place in the noon on February 16, near Kemmannu gram panchayat.

The  CCTV visual footages available show two persons arrive on a goods tempo, dump a dead body on the roadside and leave the scene in a hurry.

Hearing the news, Eshwar Malpe, a social worker along with few others reached spot informed the police and took the body to the district hospital.


According to the information, the two persons who arrived on the tempo were vegetable sellers from Hanagal district. The deceased was also a vegetable seller working with them. He was not well for the past few days and was sleeping in the backside of the tempo. After learning that the sick worker had died the other two dumped his body on the roadside and escaped.



Based on CCTV evidence, the vehicle and the persons who committed the act have been arrested by the Malpe Police.
