Guruvayankere: cattle smuggling in Innova; one held, vehicle seized

Belthangady, Aug 13, 2025: A case of cattle being transported in an Innova car in a cruel manner came to light in Guruvayankere on Wednesday. Police have seized the vehicle and detained one accused.
It is reported that the Innova, coming at high speed from the Charmadi side, collided with several vehicles before being stopped at Guruvayankere by locals and traffic police. Of the three involved in the illegal cattle transport, two allegedly assaulted the police and fled the scene.
Three cows were found crammed inside the vehicle in a brutal manner. The car was also fitted with a fake number plate. Hundreds of people gathered at the scene during the incident.
Belthangady police arrived and conducted an inspection. Further details are awaited.
