Puttur, Aug 13, 2025: In Puttur Town Police Station Crime No. 69/2023 under Section 379 IPC, Haveri–Savanur resident Shivakumar alias Shivu, who had been issued nine warrants but remained in hiding without appearing before the court, was arrested. Acting under the guidance of Puttur Sub-Division DySP Arun Nagegowda and Puttur Town Police Inspector Kiran Johnson D’Souza, a special team led by Uppinangady PSI Kaushik — comprising CHC 685 Prashanth Rai, CHC 1028 Ganesh N, CPC 2283 Shreeshail M.K., and CPC 2404 Mohammad Maulana — arrested him at Abjigere, Bengaluru, on August 12.
In Uppinangady Police Station Crime No. 14/2022 under Section 394 IPC, Syed Kaleem alias Kallu Mamu, a resident of Jagajeevan Ram Nagar, Bengaluru, had been absconding for three years without attending court hearings. He was arrested by police under the guidance of Puttur Sub-Division DySP Arun Nagegowda, Uppinangady Circle Inspector Ravi B.S., and PSI Kaushik, along with CHC 826 Shivaram Rai and DySP Special Team members CPC 2384 Shanthakumar, CPC 1035 Ravikumar, and CPC 1926 Ramesh. The accused also has four other cases registered against him in various police stations in Bengaluru.
In Kadaba Police Station Crime No. 91/2019 under Sections 341, 323, 324, 504, 506 read with 34 IPC, Yusuf (32), a resident of Ramakunja, Kadaba, had been absconding for three years without appearing in court. On August 12, Kadaba police arrested him and produced him before the court, which has remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
