Udupi, Jun 13, 2026: Former minister and BJP leader Pramod Madhwaraj has firmly denied rumours suggesting that he is set to join the Congress party.

In an official clarification issued on Saturday, Madhwaraj stated that reports and speculation about his alleged move to the Congress were completely baseless and far from the truth.

"I have already made my stand clear. I did not join the Bharatiya Janata Party for power, but with the intention of serving the people. If positions and authority come, they bring with them greater responsibility," he said.

Emphasising that public service remains the primary objective of his political life, Madhwaraj said he neither seeks positions nor craves power. According to him, a person’s true strength comes not from official posts but from the trust and support of the people.

"If I am entrusted with authority, it will only be to serve the people more effectively. For me, power is not about prestige or status; it is a responsibility to address public issues and concerns," he said.

Madhwaraj further stated that he would sincerely discharge any responsibility assigned to him by the party. Even if he is not given any position, he would continue to work among the people as an ordinary party worker.

Expressing confidence in the BJP leadership, he said that the party leaders recognise his work, loyalty and commitment to public service, and would take appropriate decisions at the right time. He also thanked party workers, supporters and the public for the trust and encouragement they have extended to him throughout his political journey.

Appealing to the public, Madhwaraj urged people not to pay attention to false reports and rumours circulating on social media and to rely only on official information.

"Power is not my goal; public service is my mission. If I am given authority, I will use it to serve the people. Even if I do not hold any position, I will never stop serving the public," he said.
