The victims Jamaluddin (25) and Kalandar Shakeel (28) are believed to have been stabbed in revenge for the murder of Shivaraj.

Jamaluddin was immediately taken to Padmavathi Hospital in Suratkal and later moved to Unity Hospital. He is now in the intensive care unit. While Kalankar is recovering from his injuries, Jamaluddin is in a very serious condition.

Reportedly, the gang wanted to take revenge on the two for their alleged involvement in the murder of Shivaraj, whose body was found near the Jokatte railway track on the morning of Friday. Allegedly, two of Shivaraj’s friends were involved in the murder of rowdy Kabir and Shivaraj’s murderers had kidnapped him to lure them. They strangled him to death when he refused to cooperate with them.

Aboobakker Siddique, brother of Jamaluddin, said that the gang barged into his brother’s shop and began attacking him. Since the police were on their rounds in the area, they were able to save Jamaluddin and Kalandar.

Kalandar is the cousin of Jamaluddin, the son of Zakriya and Hussainabba of Kulai.

The Suratkal police, who are investigating the case, have already identified six of the 10 – 15 people who were in the gang.
