Two BJP workers stabbed after victory rally near Konaje

Mangaluru, June 10, 2024: Two BJP workers were stabbed near Boliyar in Konaje police station limits late night on Sunday after they were returning home after a victory procession to mark the oath taking of the new government at the Centre.

The injured are Harish (35) of Inoli Dharmanagar and his relative Vinod (40). The victory rally was taken out from Boliyar to Dharmanagar on behalf of Boliyar BJP village committee. It is learnt the BJP workers had shouted slogans loudly near the Boliyar mosque by thumping their bike seats. Later while returning after the event, a group followed Harish and Vinod and stabbed them.

There was even a clash between two groups following which the accused fled the spot. The incident has led to a tense situation in the area. Police are on the lookout for the accused.

The injured Harish has a furniture shop in Dharmanagar.
