Swimmer wrestler Bengre Anand Amin bags two gold medals

Mangalore, Sep 27, 2012 : Bengre Anand Amin, the widely renowned Mangalorean swimmer and wrestler, won two gold medals and four silver medals in the 14th State Level Masters Swimming Championship, which was held at Vijayanagar Swimming Centre in Bangalore. He had taken part in the championship as a representative of Mangalore Aquatic Club.

Amin won the gold medals in the 100m and 50m breaststroke events in Group F and the silver medal in the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 4x50m freestyle relay, and 4x50m medley relay.

Owing to his success, he has been selected to take part in the National Level Masters Swimming Championship.

Amin works at the Mission Street branch of Syndicate Bank in Mangalore. He has won more than 400 medals in state-level and national-level swimming competitions and holds national and state level wrestling championship titles. He trains a number of young people in wrestling and swimming.
