Sullia, September 2, 2026: A leopard was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Kallapalli, near the border of Aletti village in Sullia taluk, on Tuesday morning.

The leopard was found lying dead on the property of Perumunda Gopala Gowda in Kallapalli. Local residents immediately informed the Forest Department.

Forest officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Preliminary suspicion is that the leopard may have accidentally fallen while chasing another animal during a hunt, resulting in its death.

A veterinarian conducted a post-mortem examination at the spot. The Forest Department has initiated further action.
