Mangalore, Feb 25, 2012: In his inaugural address at a national seminar titled ‘Women as Catalysts of Change’ in St. Aloysius College on Feb 25 Saturday, Stanley K. V., the founder director of Odanadi, said that men are aggressive by birth.
Stating that women are better decision makers, he said that empowered and educated women are more capable of making better social and domestic decisions.
Voicing his opinion that pregnancy and pre and post natal care has confined women to the domestic area, he said that this encouraged society to restrict woman as only a care giver in society.
St. Aloysius College had organized this seminar in commemoration of the 25 years of the presence of women in the college.
An exhibition of products from women’s self-help groups formed part of the event. It comprised 35 stalls, 20 women’s groups, including Prajna Counselling Centre, Siri Dharmasthala, and Yashaswi and had on display items such as handicrafts, clothes, jewelry, food items, and bags.
Fr. Swebert D’Silva, the principal of St. Aloysius College; Dr. Nagalakshmi, the coordinator of the seminar; Priya, the organizing secretary; Prof. Judy Pinto; and others were also present.
