Mangalore, Dec 28, 2013: The Cultural Association of St Agnes College will organize a UGC sponsored 4 day National level Workshop on ‘Folk Dances of Tamilnadu’ from Jan 3- Jan 6, 2014.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Dec 28, Saturday, Dr M Prem D’Souza, principal of the college said that the main aim of the workshop is to imbibe love and interest in the Indian Culture and folklore among the students from various colleges of our country.

She also said that about 80 colleges of our country are expected to take part and benefit from this workshop. Internationally renowned artistes Natyacharya Sr Ravi Sharma and Group from Chennai will expose the students to various forms of Tamilnadu Folk dances.
Karnataka Kala Thilaka awardee Dr Vasundhara Doraswamy, a renowned Bharathanatayam artiste will participate as the chief guest and inaugurate the workshop on Jan 3 10 am. Dr Sr Lydia Fernandes, joint secretary of the college will preside over the function.
Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alvas Education Foundation, will be the chief guest for the valedictory function on Jan 6 at 3 pm.
