Srinivas Nayak Indaje honoured with Avva Seva Trust’s Datti Nidhi Award in Hubballi

Mangaluru, July 15, 2025: Renowned journalist Srinivas Nayak Indaje, representing the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association, has been honored with the prestigious Datti Nidhi Award by the Avva Seva Trust, Hubballi, under the guidance of Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti. The award was presented by the Kasaragod Kannada Journalists’ Welfare Association in recognition of his significant contributions to the fields of media and social service.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mr. Indaje said, "This recognition has increased my responsibility further. Journalists can bring real change and progress in society when they think socially and respond empathetically to the sufferings of the people." He added, "Though I have received awards abroad as well, this honor from the Kasaragod Journalists’ Association for my work brings me immense joy."

The award ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Shivananda Tagadoor, President of the Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association; Badruddin Mani, Commissioner of the Karnataka Information Commission; Ravindra Shetty, President of Vidya Ratna English Medium School, Deralakatte; Pammi Kodialbail, President of the State Folklore Academy; Subbaiya Katte, Member of the Border Area Development Authority; Ravi Naikpu, President of the Kasaragod Kannada Journalists’ Welfare Association; Pushparaj B.N., Treasurer of the Dakshina Kannada Journalists’ Association; and senior journalists Gangadhar and Akhilesh from Kasaragod.

Box: Award Amount Donated to Kutluru School

The monetary component of the Datti Nidhi Award given by Avva Seva Trust, Hubballi will be donated towards uniforms for the school band set at Kutluru Government School, where journalists from the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association had recently conducted a rural journalism outreach program.
