Udupi, Oct 8, 2023: A man allegedly killed his 65-year-old father over a petty dispute in Mogaveera Pete, Pejamangoor village in Brahmavar on Saturday.

The deceased, Sadhu Marakala, is said to have been killed by his son, Ananda, who wanted his father to leave their home. The quarrel between the two escalated on Saturday morning, leading to the fatal incident.

Sadhu Marakala and his wife, who lived in Mogaveerapete in Pegamanguru village, had occasional disputes with their sons, who visited their home from time to time. On Saturday, when their son Anand, who worked as a fisherman, came home, there was an altercation between him and his father. It is alleged that Anand attacked his father with a knife, resulting in his death. Although the injured father was taken to the government hospital in Brahmavara, he succumbed to excessive bleeding.

Brahmavara Circle Inspector Divakar P.M, PSI Rajashekhar Vandali, and the local team visited the scene of the incident and conducted an investigation.
