Padubidri: Pedestrian killed in bike collision on NH-6

Padubidri, January 9, 2026: A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road on National Highway 66 near the Uchila bus stop on Wednesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sadashiva Kotyan (65), a resident of Paniyuru Centre. The motorcycle, which was travelling from Padubidri towards Kapu, reportedly struck Sadashiva as he was crossing the road.
He fell onto the road and sustained serious injuries. Though he was rushed to the Udupi district hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Sadashiva was employed at a hotel in Muloor and was on his way to work from home when the accident occurred. A case has been registered at the Padubidri police station.
