Mangalore, March 26, 2013 : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash has directed political parties to furnish authentic information regarding their poll related expenditure.
At a meeting with representatives of political parties held here, the DC said a candidate contesting the assembly polls will be allowed to spend a maximum of Rs 16 lakhs including transportation costs and expenses towards arranging public meetings. The DC further said a shadow account committee is already operational and will pinpoint any false information submitted. “Therefore be cautious and ensure free and fair polls, the DC said.
Hailing DK as a district known for its sincerity and straightforwardness he hoped discipline will help in conducting the poll in a transparent way. All information will be provided to the media on a regular basis, he said.
