Semi-finals of Mangalore leg of Soad-3 International held at Kalaangan

Mangalore, Feb 21, 2012 : The semi-finals of the Mangalore leg of Soad-3 International, a Konkani reality show to identify singing talents, was held at Kalaangann, the headquarters of Mandd Sobhann, the Konkani cultural organization, on Feb 19 Sunday.

 

 

 

 

The semi-finals comprised two rounds, with contestants being required to sing sentimental songs in the first round and lively numbers in the second round.

A total of 12 contestants, six each in the male and female categories, participated in the event. One singer each from the male and female categories will get a chance to participate in the finals, which are scheduled to be held in Qatar in May this year.

The contestants in the male category were Robin Sequeira, Melwyn D’Souza, Clement Fernandes, Royston Roshan Pinto, Mario D’Cunha, and Pratap Menezes. The contestants in the female category were Carol Monteiro, Jean Braggs, Jyotsna Fernandes, Joshal D’Souza, Ovida Pinto, and Loveleen D’Souza.

The panel of judges comprised Anil Patrao, the music director; Lulu Fortes, the Goan singer; and Eric Ozario, the gurkar of Mandd Sobhann.

Soad-3 is hosted by Mandd Sobhann and Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC).
