Mangalore, Dec 28, 2011: The main city branch of State Bank of India organized a special ceremony to felicitate all the police personnel who had nabbed the ATM cash thieves and retrieved the entire stolen amount of Rs. 25 lakh on Dec 15. 


Seemanth Kumar Singh, the Mangalore police commissioner, felicitated 6 police officers—Mohan, Somaiah, Udaya C. H., Harish T., Shivaprasad K., and Rajesh O.—with shawls, mementos, and garlands.

SBI Assistant General Manager B. G. Sadashiva said on the occasion that the bank has installed all security measures recommended by the police commissioner. Some of these security measures include extra guards, big boxes with heavy metal chains, and so on. Besides, the outsourcing agency has already introduced a bullet proof vehicle to move currency notes from one place to another in a bid to prevent such robberies in future. 


The police commissioner also lauded the police constables who played an important role in helping the police officers nab the ATM thieves. 


The bank rewarded the constables with a check for Rs. 25,000 through the police commissioner. Ganesh Bhat, the AGM of SBI, presided over the event. 


M. Muthuraya, the DCP for law and order, and Dharmaiah, the DCP for crime and traffic, were also present.
