Karkala, May 8, 2025: Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has announced that a grant of ₹116 crore will be released under the Swadesh Darshan scheme for the development of the Anekere and Varanga Jain temples.
The Union Minister, who arrived in Karkala this morning, visited the historic Anekere and Rama Samudra.
He stated that India is a land of diversity, and religious centers play a vital role in uniting this diversity into oneness.
Referring to the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, he said, “We will give a strong response to such demonic acts. Yesterday, India gave a fitting and bold reply to Pakistan. This operation reflects the changing face of India. On one hand, India is becoming capable and powerful—this symbolizes our strength and progress. To lead the nation toward cultural prosperity, we must all work together in unity,” he added.
Later, the Minister visited the Anekere Basadi and offered prayers.
