Puttur: Father missing after assaulting son in ration rice dispute

Puttur, Sep 27, 2025: A man accused of assaulting his son over a dispute regarding the sale of ration rice has gone missing from Kedambady village, according to a complaint lodged at Puttur Sampya police station.

The missing person has been identified as Choma (65), a resident of Idapadi in Kedambady. On the evening of September 3, Choma, along with his younger son Ravi, allegedly attacked his elder son Purandar following an argument about selling ration rice.

Injured Purandar was admitted to Puttur Government Hospital the same evening. The next day, on September 4, a case of assault was registered against Choma and Ravi at Sampya police station.

The complaint further states that when Purandar was taken to the hospital on September 3, Choma was still at home, but since then, he has been missing. His wife Sushila has filed a missing complaint with the police.
