Puttur: 16 injured as two KSRTC buses collide near Shiradi

Puttur, Sep 29, 2025: Sixteen passengers were injured after two Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses collided near Shiradi on National Highway 75, the Bengaluru–Mangaluru route, on Sunday evening. The accident caused traffic disruption for nearly three hours.

The mishap took place near Gundya in Shiradi village when a KSRTC bus bound for Dharmasthala from Bengaluru collided with a Rajahamsa bus traveling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru.

Nine passengers in the Dharmasthala-bound bus sustained serious injuries and were shifted to hospital, while seven passengers in the Rajahamsa bus suffered minor injuries.

Police personnel from the Nellyadi outpost rushed to the spot and cleared the road to restore smooth traffic flow.
