Mangalore, Oct 16, 2011: Janardhan Poojary, the former union minister and Congress leader, wants a judicial inquiry into the arrest and hospitalization of former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa. Terming it as a “drama,” he said an inquiry has to be conducted and that all the people involved in this “drama” have to be exposed. Poojary was addressing reporters on Oct 16 Sunday.
Speaking of how Yeddyurappa evaded the police when they went to arrest him at his house and how he later surrendered, Poojary said that he wants to know how Yeddyurappa suddenly developed a backache when he spent the entire day evading the police.
Complaining that ministers are in the habit of getting hospitalized just to avoid judicial procedure, he said that if this is allowed to continue, corrupt politicians can never be sent to jail.
Criticizing Advani’s anti-corruption ratha yatra, he said that this yatra has no significance if Advani does not expel Yeddyurappa, who is allegedly involved in several scams and is known as the most corrupt CM in the history of Karnataka. He also demanded to know if Advani is clean.
Flaying H. D. Kumaraswamy for stating that he is personally sad because of BSY’s arrest, Poojary said that Kumaraswamy was the root of all corruption in Karnataka, adding that Kumaraswamy is also responsible for such a corrupt government coming to power.
Expressing confidence that the people have lost their faith in BJP, he said that the Congress is now ready for elections.
