Mangalore, June 15, 2012: The District Physical Education Teachers’ Association organized a silent protest in front of the DC’s office on June 15, Friday. They also submitted a memorandum to MLC Captain Ganesh Karnik after the protest, in which they urged the state government to fulfill their demands.
The association has demanded that the state government must appoint physical education lecturers in pre-university colleges, hold M.P.Ed training for physical education teachers who have obtained their B.P.Ed degrees, and implement the recommendations of the Prof. L. R. Vaidyanathan Physical Expert Committee, among others.
P. V. Joseph, president of the District Physical Education Teachers’ Association; K. H. Nayak, its chief secretary; and Akhil Shetty, its vice president, were among the protestors.
