Mangalore, Aug 20, 2013: Nabeesa, the mother of Razia who was killed along with her little daughter by unidentified assailants at their house at Panjimogaru, said that the police and the CID have failed to arrest the killers.
It may be recalled here that Razia (32), a homemaker and her daughter Fatima Zuha, aged seven years were murdered during broad daylight at their home on June 28,2011. Razia’s husband Hameed runs a scrop shop at Kulur.
Nabeesa also alleged that the police were trying to twist facts and pass the blame on Razia’s brother Haneef. She said the hopes of the family of securing justice has faded. “Haneef was taken into custody after Hameed began to blame him. We did not take it seriously then thinking Hameed has done so out of anger over family dispute. We even co-operated in the investigation,” she said.
When locals began to stage protest demanding arrest of the killers, Hameed pressurized Razia’s family against participating in the protest, Nabeesa alleged.
“Even though the case was handed over to the CID, the police continuously interrogated our family members, especially Haneef. He was even summoned to Bangalore for investigation several times,” she added.
Razia’s sister Zulekha who was also present, said there was a clash between Hameed and Haneef before the murder took place. “Now Hameed is trying to exert political influence and blame Haneef,” she alleged. She also said the family was ready to co-operate with the police in the probe
Razia’s brothers Ashraf, Arif, and Arish and sister Rehana were also present during the press meet.
