Panambur Life Guards rescue 6 persons from drowning

Mangalore, Sep 29, 2013: The Life Guards at Panambur Beach have rescued six persons from drowning in the seas on September 28, Saturday.

In the first case, the Life Guards rescued Basavanath Kumar (49) of Chikkodi taluk who had come on a picnic along with his friends, and was washed away by the giant tidal waves.

In another  incident, five students of Akshaya Engineering College, Coimbatore, who were drowning in the sea  were also rescued by the Life Guards. Those rescued are M Arun Prashant, Praveen Kumar, G Ravikumar and M Poovarasan. The incident took place when a  total of 165 students from Coimbatore had come to the Panambur beach..

So far the Life Guards have rescued over 80 persons from drowning in the seas.
