Palemar Accuses TV Channel of defamation

Mangalore, Apr 19,2012 : Former minister, Krishna J Palemar accuses Suvarna news channel of purposefully engaging in slanderous campaign against him and airing porn clippings.

palemar 1 He said that he had to lose his ministerial position, and also people got wrong notion about him, because of airing of false report by the channel and by doing this channel has committed crime under Information Technology Act.

He had filed a private complaint in the second junior magistrate first class court here against the channel, which has directed the Mangalore North Police Station to register a case.

Based on the instructions of court, a criminal case stands registered against the said television news channel at Mangalore North Police Station.

The complaint seeks redressal for injustice suffered by the former minister on account of the above report. Advocate, P P Hegde, had appeared in the court on behalf of Palemar and put forth arguments in favour of the complainant.
