Mangalore, Dec 6, 2011: The Karnataka State PU College Lecturers’ Association and Coordination Committee has decided to go on an indefinite strike from Dec 8, demanding equal wages for PUC as well as degree college teachers.

He also complained that the demands of pre-university college teachers have not yet been considered in spite of repeated appeals made to the government since 1998.

He further said that lecturers have been ignored while assistant engineers, assistant education officers, tahsildars, block development officers, and other occupants of II Class posts have been promoted to the I Class in accordance with the 4th Pay Commission.

Mr. Rao said that, although the association has attracted the attention of the government for the past 5 years, none of them benefited lecturers.
