Mangalore, Aug 15, 2013: The Nation is celebrating its 67th Independence Day and shops selling national flags in varied sizes have made brisk business.
But a peculiar fact that is noticed is that most of these mini National Flags are ‘Made in China.’ One can observe these stickers in the packets in which National Flags are supplied to shops. It is undeniable that India is a big market for Chinese products though their quality issue is much debated upon. But, that China is making business even by manufacturing Indian National Flags is something that is intriguing. The government need to take note of this and ensure that Made in India National Flags are allowed to be sold in the nation henceforth during days of National Importance.

The same intriguing event took place in the U.S. U.S. flags were made in China. The average consumers won’t look at the number of items made in China, but this blind consumption was caught off guard when the world economy began to slumber. In the U.S., both the discount and high end stores are filled with made in China products- a very high percentage of blue collar jobs were exported to China, so the U.S. is not recovering from this prolonged recession. |
