One dead, 4 cows critical after consuming chickweed leaves

Mangaluru, March 9, 2023: In a tragic incident, a cow died and four other cows are in a critical state after they reportedly ate chickweed (Goli Soppu) leaves at Mundoli in Someshwar Gram Panchayat limits. The ill cattle  are being treated by a team led by veterinarian Dr Gajendra Kumar.

The cattle belongs to Sanjeeva Poojary, a farmer. It is learnt, the family had prepared a bed of Goli Soppu leaves for the cattle to sleep on March 8 afternoon. It is believed that the cattle ate these leaves and fell sick.
