Odiyoor Swamiji inaugurates exhibition of Ganesha idols

Mangalore, Sept. 19, 2012: Odiyoor Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji inaugurated Vishwaroopi Gajanana, an exhibition of Ganesha idols collected by M. Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation at Venkappa Poonja Auditorium on September 18. The exhibition was organized by Siddhi Vinayaka Prathishtana.
Over 1000 varieties of Ganesha idols of various types, sizes, makes, poses, and colors were displayed on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji said that the relationship between Gauri and Ganesha is very important, adding that every mother has the ability to transform her son/daughter into a world leader.
Dr. Mohan Alva, Navaneeth Shetty, Monappa Bhandary, Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai, and others were also present.
A drawing contest on Lord Ganesha was also organized for school children as part of the exhibition.
