Namaz on road: Ramanatha Rai takes exception to suo moto case

Mangaluru, May 31, 2024: Senior Congress leader B Ramanatha Rai has expressed displeasure over the filing of a suo moto case in connection with a recent incident of Namaz on the road outside a mosque at Kankanady.

Speaking to reporters, he said there have been instances of religious events of various faiths being held on road. “Everything cannot be termed wrong. No suo moto case was filed in the district even when provocative speeches were made,” he said adding action must also be taken against those who videographed the incident and tried to disrupt communal harmony.

He also sought support for the party candidates contesting the south west graduates and teachers’ constituency.

KPCC General Secretary and Congress candidate from DK constituency Padmaraj R, Party leaders Deepak Poojary, Ashraf, Ibrahim Kodijal, Appi were present.
