Na D’Souza to chair 80th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana 2014

Mangalore, Dec 4, 2013: Veteran Kannada litterateur Norbert D’Souza, known as Na D’Souza, has been chosen as the president for the three days 80th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelana scheduled at Madikeri from January 7.

DSouza Na D’Souza has contributed a lot to the Kannada literary over the last three decades. He has written more than three dozens of novels, four plays, 28 works of literature for children and hundreds of short stories.

Some of the award winning films like ‘Kaadina Benki’ and ‘Dweepa’ has been done based on his novels.

He has also received several awards including Kendra Sahitya Academy Award, Bala Sahitya Puraskar, Kannada Rajyothsava Award and Dr Kota Shivarama Karanth Birthday award for 2013.

Na D’Souza will participate in the convention along with Dr M M Kalaburgi, Devanoor Mahadeva, Latha Rajashekar, B V Veerabhadrappa and Hampa Nagarajaiah at Kodagu after a gap of 32 years.
