NMAMIT celebrates I-Day with mammoth sand art on India

Karkala, Aug 17, 2013 : Students of the Nitte Manjunath Adyanthaya Memorial Institute of Technology(NMAMIT) celebrated the 67th Independence Day in a unique manner  by creating a huge sand art painting spreading over 190 feet in length and 60 feet in width.

The sand art work reflecting India was  created by  over  800 students under the  guidance of a team of sand artistes led by  Srinath from Manipal.

 N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University, unfurled the National tri-colour. In his address, he  urged the student to derive inspiration from the lives and sacrifices of great freedom fighters and  strive to build a corruption free nation.
