Moodushedde double murder – police arrest 4 more suspects

Mangalore, Nov 16, 2011 :The police on Nov 15 arrested 4 people for alleged involved in the murder of rowdy sheeters Murugesh and Upendra at Moodushedde. It may be recalled that the duo were killed on Nov 11 Friday.

The arrested are Prashanth (21) of Bajal Kudkurigudde, Nawaz (21) of Bajal Kallakatte, Gaurish Kumar (21) of Bajal Kuntalgudde, and Hariprasad (23) of Shivanagara Moodushedde. So far, the police have arrested 7 people, including the above-mentioned 4, in connection with the murder.

Murugesh is suspected to be involved in the murder of Vamanjoor Rohi, the notorious rowdy. He and his brother-in-law Upendra were murdered brutally on Friday. The police acted quickly and arrested Raghu, Gopal, and Faisal of Moodushedde on the evening of the murder.

The four who were recently arrested were trying to run away to Mumbai. They had arrived at the Central Railway Station at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday when a team led by Circle Inspector Valentine D’Souza arrested them.

According to police sources, Nawaz, who is a carpenter, had planned to go abroad and had already booked tickets. The Mangalore Rural and the Bantwal Rural police have previously registered attempt to murder cases against Nawaz and Hariprasad, respectively.

Meanwhile, Gopal, Raghu, and Faisal have been presented in court and remanded to judicial custody till Nov 28
