Mangaluru, Nov 17, 2025: Acting on credible information received around 5 pm on October 15, police intercepted a Tata Ace container near Hosmaru–Nellikaru in Moodbidri taluk and arrested three men for allegedly transporting cattle illegally.
The arrested have been identified as Mansoor Adyapady alias Mohammad Mansoor, Mohammad Ashwad, and Abdul Mohammad Nisham. Police said the trio was transporting three cattle in violation of legal provisions.
A case has been registered at the Moodbidri police station (Crime No. 178/2025) under Section 111 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Section 11(1)(d) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and Sections 4, 5, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance.
According to police, first accused Mansoor Adyapady is a habitual offender with 29 previous cases, making this his 30th case. The second accused, Mohammad Ashwad, has one previous case under the cow slaughter prohibition law in Ullal, making this his second offence. For the third accused, Abdul Mohammad Nisham, this is the first case registered.
Police said the case has been filed under provisions related to organised crime. All three were produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
