Montepadavu: Konaje police crack lone woman’s murder case; accused arrested

Konaje, July 16, 2025: The Konaje police have arrested the accused in the brutal murder of a woman who was living alone near Montepadavu, two months after the crime took place. The woman’s body had been dumped in a well.

According to the police, the accused is a native of Bihar and was working locally as a construction labourer.


Konaje murder case accused arrested


On May 29, the body of 36-year-old Sundari, a native of Sakleshpur, was found in a well near Montepadavu, with stones tied around her waist. Police had suspected that she was raped before being murdered.

Sundari had been living alone in a rented house near Montepadavu for the past one and a half years and was working as a domestic help in the area. Her murder had posed a major challenge for the police.

After an intensified investigation, the Konaje police have finally cracked the case two months after the crime.
