Further, he said that the state government has provided 1250 classrooms for various government schools, adding that the present-day government schools have less attendance, owing to which teachers and governments should work hard to encourage students to come regularly to schools.

Speaking about the problems faced by school children in his jurisdiction, MLA Abhayachandra Jain said that, except for a government-aided school, all the houses in the area have been acquired by SEZ. The school is set on 3 acres of land and snakes enter the classrooms. Instead of solving the basic problems of these children, the government has distributed cycles among them. CEO Vijayaprakash said that the ZP will issue an order to SEZ through the state government to build a new school in that area.

CEO Vijayaprakash also said that students require desks and benches and many other basic facilities in many schools.

Shivashankar Bhat, the president of the Primary School Teachers’ Association, said that the state government has already introduced several activities in schools, owing to which introducing more activities is unnecessary because it becomes very difficult for the teachers to conduct these activities every month. He also submitted a memorandum stating various problems faced by primary schools.

Palemar then urged school teachers’ associations to make a list problems and required facilities, promising that their problems will be solved at the earliest.

Shivaprakash, the district deputy coordinator of Sarva Shikshana Abhiyan, read out the scheme report for 2011 – 12 and said that they had requested the government to grant permission for the utilization of Rs. 217.80 lakh to pay the salaries of 121 primary school teachers and Rs. 18.476 lakhs on developmental activities.

Moses Jayashekar delivered the welcome address. Shailaja Bhat, the president of the ZP; Dhanalakshmi Janardhan, the vice president of ZP; Eshwar Kateel; and many others were also present.
