Belthangady: Child locked inside car rescued after window smashed in Maddadka

Belthangady, May 26, 2026: A tense situation unfolded at Maddadka in Kuvettu village of Belthangady taluk on Sunday after a child was accidentally trapped inside a locked car due to the vehicle’s automatic locking system.

According to reports, the driver had parked the car and briefly stepped out to visit a nearby shop. During that time, the car’s auto-lock system reportedly activated unexpectedly, leaving the child locked inside the vehicle.

As panic spread among bystanders, locals gathered at the spot and tried repeatedly to open the car doors, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.

With concern mounting over the child’s safety, members of the public finally smashed one of the car windows and managed to rescue the child from inside the vehicle.

Fortunately, the child was rescued safely without sustaining any injuries, local sources said.
