Mysuru, May 27, 2026: A day after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against actor Ranveer Singh and urged the film industry not to work with him, the actor visited the revered Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hills in Mysuru to offer prayers.
The Dhurandhar actor visited the temple on Tuesday morning (May 26).
The visit comes a day after the Karnataka High Court accepted Ranveer’s unconditional apology in connection with the Kantara mimicry controversy.
“He visited the temple around 7.30 am,” M.J. Roopa, secretary of the Sri Chamundeshwari Kshetra Development Authority, was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
The controversy stemmed from Ranveer’s alleged remarks about a divine character portrayed in Kantara Chapter 1. He was accused of referring to ‘Chavundi Daiva’, a deity worshipped in coastal Karnataka, as a ghost during the Filmfare Awards ceremony held in Goa last year. He also faced allegations of mimicking the sacred Daiva possession scene from the film.
Meanwhile, Ranveer has issued an official statement after FWICE reportedly called for a ban on him amid the Don 3 controversy involving filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. The issue reportedly arose after Ranveer allegedly exited the project following the success of director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.
In his statement, Ranveer wished the Don franchise success and chose not to comment further on the ongoing controversy.
