Mangaluru, Jun 4, 2026: A 22-year-old youth has allegedly been cheated of ₹5.31 lakh by fraudsters who lured him with promises of doubling his money through online trading and gaming.

According to the complaint, the victim was browsing Telegram when he came across messages from fraudsters who persuaded him to join the Fair Play website, claiming that investments made through trading and gaming would yield double returns.

Believing their claims, the youth allegedly transferred a total of ₹5.31 lakh in multiple transactions through Google Pay and Paytm between January 29 and June 1.

After realizing that he had been duped, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.

A case has been registered at the Mangaluru South Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
