Mangaluru: Woman killed in Kulur as scooter hits pothole, run over by truck

Mangaluru, Sep 9, 2025: A tragic accident at Kulur claimed the life of a private hospital employee after her scooter hit a large pothole on the highway.

The deceased has been identified as Madhavi. While riding her scooter, she lost balance after hitting the pothole and was fatally struck by a fish-laden truck from behind.

According to eyewitnesses, Madhavi fell onto the road when her scooter lost control, and the truck ran over her, killing her on the spot.

Local residents expressed strong anger over the poor condition of district roads. Despite repeated complaints, officials have allegedly ignored demands for repairs. The stretch from Mulki to Pumpwell has several dangerous potholes, and residents accused authorities of taking action only after fatal accidents occur.

They warned that unless urgent measures are taken, more lives will be lost due to the hazardous condition of the roads.
