Mangaluru: Video of Congress leader Mithun Rai arguing with police over DJ permission goes viral

Mangaluru, Sep 27, 2025: A video of Congress leader Mithun Rai insisting that police permit a DJ performance during the Ayudha Puja celebrations at Karnataka Polytechnic near KPT has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Rai is seen arguing with a police officer who mentioned the Commissioner’s name while citing restrictions. Responding, Rai questioned, “Which Commissioner are you talking about? Didn’t the Commissioner dance to DJ music during student days? Didn’t you dance when you were a student? How would the Commissioner know about a DJ event inside the college? If not during youth, should students wait until they grow old to dance?”
He further pressured the police officer over the phone, reportedly saying he would perform Hulivesha (tiger dance) in public, demanding permission for the DJ.
