Mangaluru: Illegal liquor unit busted in Deralakatte, two held

Mangaluru, Sept 1, 2025: Konaje police raided a house in Deralakatte that was being used for illegal liquor production and arrested two persons on Sunday.
The arrested have been identified as Pranav V. Shenoy (24) of Kasargod and Anush R. (24) of Thalipadpu. Police said the duo, along with two others—Thomas and Manikutttan—were running the illicit operation in a house located on the road leading to Sri Durga Kali Temple at Kambalapadavu in Pajiru village, under Konaje police station limits.
During the raid, Thomas and Manikutttan managed to escape.
Police took the arrested men to the site for mahazar proceedings. The raid led to the seizure of illegal materials worth ₹1,15,110, including three liquor-making machines, a mixer, several liquor bottles, and eight bottles of Mansion House brandy—licensed for sale only in Goa—along with other equipment used in liquor production.
A case has been registered at Konaje police station, and further investigation is underway.
