Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru has set up an ICU with eight beds and a general ward with 18 beds. Additionally, two beds each have been designated in taluk hospitals across several areas. These facilities are equipped with necessary medications, air conditioning, and emergency services, with medical experts on standby.

Children are particularly at risk, showing symptoms such as unconsciousness, muscle cramps, seizures, irritability, and headaches. Prompt measures such as cooling the body, elevating legs, and avoiding feeding an unconscious child are advised. Health officials stress the dangers of heatstroke, urging people to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities, and wear light clothing.

Dr. Timmaiah, District Health Officer of Dakshina Kannada, reassures that no cases have been reported yet but preventive measures are in place.

Dr. I P Gadad, DHO of Udupi, also confirms no reported cases and assures preparedness with allocated beds in hospitals.
