Mangaluru, December 16, 2025: New Zealand? Mangaluru? Where exactly? But here, borders, caste, language, and traditions were no barrier to the bond of hearts. On December 14, in the auditorium of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanath Temple in Mangaluru, local boy Arjun Kumar from Hosabettu, Mangaluru, and Lilly Chu from New Zealand tied the knot, stepping together into a new chapter of life.

Arjun completed his education at Canara College and Srinivas College in Mangaluru before moving to New Zealand for higher studies. It was through friends that he met Lilly Chu, who was studying psychology. During the COVID period, Lilly faced difficult times in New Zealand, and around the same time, Arjun experienced a personal family tragedy that left him devastated.
During this period, it was Lilly Chu who came forward, offered support, and gave Arjun courage. Her compassionate heart unknowingly sparked feelings of love in Arjun. When the couple expressed their love to their families, both families approved. Fulfilling Arjun’s wish, they decided to marry according to Indian traditions in his hometown, which Lilly happily accepted.
Before coming to Mangaluru, Lilly had watched videos on YouTube to learn about Indian wedding customs. Thanks to this, she followed all the rituals meticulously, ensuring the wedding ceremonies went smoothly.
