Tourist bus en route to Kerala catches fire on road in Kodagu

Kodagu, December 15, 2025: A tourist bus traveling from Virajpet to the state of Kerala caught fire in the middle of the road.
The incident occurred near the Magadi Paare Anjaneya Temple on the Makutta Road.
The Virajpet–Makutta road serves as a key route connecting Kodagu with Kerala. It is suspected that the bus caught fire suddenly in the early hours of the morning due to a technical fault.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel and Virajpet Rural Police rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection.
Due to the incident, vehicles were seen lined up in long queues on the Kodagu–Kerala Makutta Road.
