Brahmavar: Youth killed in late-night clash over trivial issue

Brahmavar, December 15, 2025: A youth was killed following a clash over a trivial issue at Padukere in Kotathattu village of Brahmavar taluk late on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Santosh Mogaveera (30), a resident of Padukere.

According to sources, a group of youths who had recently returned from Sabarimala had gathered for a late-night drinking session on Sunday. An argument reportedly erupted over a minor issue and soon escalated into a violent clash. During the altercation, Santosh Mogaveera was allegedly brutally assaulted and collapsed at the spot.

Local residents rushed him to a private hospital in Brahmavar, where he succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.

Upon receiving information, Brahmavar Circle Inspector Gopikrishna, Kota Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar T, Station ASI Manthesh Jabagoudar, along with head constables Pradeep and Ashok, visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Police have taken four youths into custody in connection with the incident and are continuing further investigation.

A case has been registered at the Kota police station.
