Mangaluru: Bike theft suspect arrested, stolen property recovered

Mangaluru, December 16, 2025: The police have arrested a suspect in connection with a bike theft reported under the jurisdiction of Kankanadi City Police Station. The accused, Ibrahim, alias Monu, a resident of Idya, Katipalla, Suratkal, was taken into custody. It is alleged that the suspect stole a Yamaha FZ bike on the 8th in the Pumpwell area. The bike had been parked near V Care Garage on the Ekkuru National Highway and was stolen through direct tampering.

Based on the investigation, a case was registered at Kankanadi City Police Station under Crime No. 178/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Indian Penal Code, relating to a punishable offense. The accused was arrested on the 12th, and the stolen bike along with the mobile phone used in the crime were recovered. The recovered property is estimated to be worth approximately ₹26,000. The accused was presented before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
