Mangalore, April 24: A large number of followers of Shri Sathya Sai Baba, who died this morning in Puttaparthi due to cardio respiratory failure, spent their time in mourning and prayer. A number of devotees who had offered special worship for his recovery at Shri Sathya Sai Temple, Mannagudde, were in tears.

Although he had steered clear of public life for a long time, Sai Baba had a large number of faithful followers, many of who are in Mangalore. The followers, say that Sai Baba will always be with his devotees spiritually although he is physically no more. Stating that this is a sad day for his followers, he said that Baba’s teachings guided them along the right path.

Around 25 followers of Sai Baba left Mangalore for Puttaparthi to volunteer at Sai Kulwant Hall, where Sai Baba’s body will be kept for public viewing for the next 2 days.
